Councilor Ken Woods, Jr.

Personal Background

As a fifth generation Woods to live in Dallas, my great-great-grandfather moved from Pennsylvania to Dallas in the 1860’s. My father, Ken Sr., was a long time City Councilor and former Mayor of Dallas. I am proud of Dallas and its many accomplishments over the past 60 years.

Community Involvement

My community involvement includes:
  • Current Chair of City-County Insurance Services (a self-insurance pool that insures most of the cities and counties in Oregon)
  • Current Chair of the Mid-Willamette Valley Area Commission on Transportation (MWACT), which includes Marion, Polk & Yamhill Counties
  • Current Vice-Chair, League of Oregon Cities Transportation Committee
  • Dallas City Council Member since 1983 (Council President 2000-2008)
  • Dallas Economic Development Commission - past Chair
  • Dallas Exceptional Family 2009
  • Dallas First Citizen 1995
  • Dallas Parks & Recreation Board - Past Chair
  • Graduate of Dallas High School 1967
  • Kids Inc. Baseball Coach for 16 years
  • Owner of Craven-Woods Insurance since 1981
  • Past President (twice) of the Dallas Rotary Club
  • Past President of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce
  • Served on numerous committees supporting the Dallas School District
