Dallas City Park, the largest park in town (35 acres), plays host to large community events, and is a great place to hold family gatherings or company picnics. For convenience and comfort at these events, the park features:
Seasonal DatesThe Dallas City Park is open year round with a summer reservation season. Over 50,000 people use the Dallas City Park and its picnic facilities each year. The Dallas City Park offers a seasonal reservation system from May 1 through September 30. Please note that the water is shut off and restrooms are closed from the end of October until the first part of April each year. There is a portable restroom available during this time on the Academy Street side of the park. Also, during the summer months, the restrooms will be available from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Disc GolfA 9-hole disc golf course was added to the park in September 2009. In 2010, an additional 9 holes were added. This 18-hole course is expertly laid out for disc golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. Click here for more information. |

Delbert Hunter ArboretumThe Delbert Hunter Arboretum and Botanic Garden is situated on 5 acres of undeveloped land at the south end of Dallas City Park. The arboretum is dedicated to promotion, awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of Oregon's native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. The arboretum is open to visitors during park hours. The visitors center is open each Tuesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteer opportunities are available. For more information, call 503.623.7359 or visit the Delbert Hunter Arboretum website. |

Japanese GardenA bridge from the Brandvold section of the park leads you to the Japanese Garden. This tranquil setting includes meandering paths throughout the garden, a waterfall, pond, and traditional vegetation. |

DirectionsTo get to Dallas City Park, take Ellendale Avenue west and turn south onto Levens Street. To access the Brandvold (“new”) section of the park located at 401 Southwest Levens Street, turn west onto Brandvold Drive. To reach the Park Gazebo (“old”) section of the park located at 600 Southwest Allgood Street, continue on Levens to Academy Street. Turn west on Academy, and continue one block until you reach the park. |

The perfect neighborhood park within walking distance of LaCreole Middle school, and a number of homes with kids ready to enjoy. A recently installed Fire Truck playground, permanent cornhole boards made from decorative concrete, and a soft walking path make this a versatile park for all ages. New playground equipment (April 2009) and two basketball hoops, which are visible to seating, are the main components of Birch Park. This neighborhood gathering spot is located in southwest Dallas. DirectionsTo get to Birch Park, take Fairview Avenue (Kings Valley Highway 223)south until you reach Birch Street. Proceed east along Birch Street until you reach the park at the intersection of Birch and Stump Streets. |

With the addition of rock climbing themed playground equipment, Gala Park is a nice area for children to exercise and create adventures. This park also includes a basketball court and an open grassy area. While it is open to full sun, a gazebo with picnic tables provides a shaded area.DirectionsTo reach Gala Park, take Uglow Avenue south from East Ellendale Avenue. This park was recently improved with new play equipment, a soccer field, full-court basketball court, ADA-accessible trail, exercise equipment, and detention basin to control winter storm runoff. These improvements were made possible through a Local Government Grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. We have also recently added a soft trail the encompasses the entire park.DirectionsTo get to Kingsborough Park, take West Ellendale Avenue to Wyatt Street, nearly at the west end of the City limit. |

The Roger Jordan Community Park consists of soccer fields, a skate park, a baseball field, two tennis courts, a paved walking path, a picnic area, and new play equipment. It is also home to the Aquatic Center with a lazy river and water slide, which is open daily for swimming, lessons, swim team practices, exercise classes, and parties. The City just recently added 4 new pickleball court across the street on Barberry Ave.DirectionsTo get to the Roger Jordan Community Park, take LaCreole Drive to Walnut Avenue. There is parking along the north edge of the park on Walnut, as well as next to the Aquatic Center off LaCreole Drive. |

Rotary Park is in northeast Dallas. The City of Dallas, the Dallas Rotary Club, and the Dallas community worked together to upgrade Rotary Park with new playground equipment, walking paths, and a half basketball court. DirectionsTo get to Rotary Park, take Orchard Drive to Fern Avenue. Proceed east along Fern Avenue until you get to the Park. |

Downtown Dallas this nice green space is a great getaway from the everyday hustle. With a state-of-the-art playground for the kids, the Rickreall Creek Trail system system running directly through it, and informational signs. Walnut Park is a small wooded area located in southeast Dallas. It features a shaded creek and a bench for resting. DirectionsTo get to Walnut Park, from Main Street, turn east onto Walnut Avenue. From LaCreole Drive, turn west onto Walnut Avenue. The park is located at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Uglow Avenue. |
