If you are interested in running for office, the City strongly encourages you to contact the City Elections Official to review the process, paperwork, and important filing deadlines.

Candidate information packets are now available in the City Manager's office located on the 2nd floor of city hall.


KEY DATES - The next election with open City Council positions will be held in November 2026 .

POSITIONS ON THE BALLOT & FILED CANDIDATES
 

All positions are non-partisan and are elected at-large. Candidates run to represent the entire City rather than a specific district and all registered City voters are eligible to vote for each position. The council positions are four-year terms and the Mayor is a two-year term

Candidate filings will be posted below as they are received and reviewed in accordance with State requirements.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
To run for City Council or Mayor a candidate must:
 

  • Be a registered voter
  • Reside within the City limits for the 12 months prior to the election
  • Not run for more than one City office in the same election
