Responsibilities & Services

The City of Dallas is governed by a Council-Manager form of government. This means the city's nine-member City Council directs the City Manager to carry out the city's day to day operations. The City Manager's Office ensures the city's operations are consistent with the Dallas 2030 Vision and the city's Five Year Strategic Plan. Key administrative tasks include implementing City Council policies, directing the city's daily operations, preparing the annual budget, and providing timely information to our community.
