Friends of the Library Mission Statement

 

The mission of the Friends of the Dallas Public Library is to:

  • Coordinate the efforts of all groups and individuals interested in the Dallas Public Library

  • Encourage donations, gifts or memorials of funds to the Library

  • Raise funds to purchase items needed by the Library which are not covered by the City Budget

  • Sponsor and stimulate volunteer service for the Dallas Public Library

Projects & Events the Friends Help to Support:

  • Book Sales

  • Library Open House

  • Author Visits

  • National Library Week Celebration

  • Conversation Programs

  • Summer Reading Program

  • Children's Weekly Storytimes

  • Memorial, Celebration & Volunteer Appreciation Books

  • Teen Programs

  • Cultural "GO" Passes
