Vacation House Checks

Home security is a basic competent of crime prevention. If you are on vacation and away from your home, within the city limits of Dallas, the police department provides house checks. Once you have completed your application, please submit or bring the form to the department two to three days prior to your departure. 

To request a vacation house check, use one of the following options: 

• Submit an online Vacation House Check Form 
• Download the application here, and mail or drop it off at the police department. 
• Forms are also available at the police reception.

Our staff provides this service by conducting perimeter inspections of your home to ensure all doors and windows are secure. Vacation house checks are provided as a courtesy to community members.
